Dermabrasion
Dermabrasion is a surgical technique which removes the surface layers of the skin using machines which work a little like a sander. The layers which are removed are quickly replaced by cells from the remaining deeper layers of the skin. The regenerated skin has a better texture and appearance. Specifically, some fine wrinkling, minor skin blemishes and age spots can be removed or at least improved. It is also possible to improve the appearance of some types of acne scarring. Dermabrasion is rarely used on its own and is most often used in combination with other procedures such as a face lift to rejuvenate the face.
